The Southeast of Saline girl’s basketball season came to an unfortunate end at the hands of Riley County 39-18 on Tuesday, as the Lady Falcons locked down SES with excellent defense.

Southeast put on a strong defensive showing of their own, holding Riley County to just nine points in the first quarter, 11 in the second and six in the third, but scored just one field goal of their own in each of those frames to trail 26-10 at the end of the third.
Aba Pearson came on strong for SES in the fourth quarter, scoring six of the Lady Trojan’s eight points, but it was too little too late as Riley County cruised to a 39-18 win.
Those six points from Pearson would lead the Lady Trojans in scoring, with Suttyn Douglas (4) representing the next highest score for SES.
Meanwhile in the win two Lady Falcons notched double figures lef by Rileigh Mitoska (18) and Anna Lambert (13).
For the Lady Trojans a still excellent season comes to a disappointing end at 15-6.
Riley County, now 16-6, will travel to Halstead to take on Hesston in the championship game on Friday.
