September 26, 1931 ~ July 23, 2022 (age 90)

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - Keith Eldon Sullivan, 90 years old, died July 23, 2022 at his home in Prescott Valley. He was born September 26, 1931 in Salina, KS to Eldon and Coral Sullivan. His father died when Keith was a few months old and his mother died when he was three. He was then adopted by his grandparents Clarence and Maude Sullivan.

Keith attended school in the Salina School system. At age 16, with Clarence's permission, he enlisted in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he earned his GED. Keith truly loved his time in the Navy. His greatest passion in the Navy was when he was sailing aboard submarines. His time in the service included the Korean War and the Vietnam conflict. He was a Chief Electrician's Mate when he retired from the Navy on March 21, 1967, after serving 20 years.

Returning to Salina, Keith worked as an electrician for Electrical Equipment Company and B & W Electric.

He pursued his love of drag racing for several years with his car, a Hurst/Olds he called Quicksilver, winning many trophies. Keith also enjoyed playing golf.

Keith married Sandra (Von Fange) Pliakis on June 27, 1970 and soon after adopted her daughter Mary. This union was blessed with one son, Eric.  In 1996 Keith and Sandra retired to a home they had built for them in Prescott Valley, AZ. Keith continued working part time for an electrical company. He and Sandra also joined the local Moose Lodge where he was very actively involved and held various leadership roles.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, adopted brothers and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clarence and Deloise Von Fange.

Survivors include Sandra, his wife of 52 years; his daughter Mary (Dean) Aebischer and son, Eric Sullivan; brother-in-law Larry (Quenana) Liggett; grandchildren, Bekki (Mitchell) Scanlan, Andrew Aebischer (Jenni Hardesty) and Alec Aebischer; great-grandchildren Orrin and Arya Scanlan; three nieces and six nephews also survive Keith.

Family will be receiving visitors Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th Street, Salina.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3rd at Ryan Mortuary. Interment will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
