December is here and with it comes the opportunity to give someone a helping hand this Christmas. The Salina Salvation Army’s annual Angel Tree Project is in full swing and this year 343 angels are on the trees representing children 12 years old or younger who might not otherwise experience the joy of Christmas.
The Angel Tree Project provides detailed information for each child, including clothing and shoe sizes, to help donors purchase personalized gifts or gift cards. Community members are invited to choose an angel, shop for the child, and return the unwrapped gifts, along with the angel tag, to designated locations.
Angel Trees are stationed at Walmart and Sam’s Club in Salina, making it convenient for shoppers to participate. Donors can drop off gifts in the provided bins at these locations or deliver them directly to The Salvation Army at 1137 N. Santa Fe by December 13.
