MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State cornerback Jacob Parrish became the latest Wildcat to hear his name called in the NFL Draft as he was selected in the third round of the 2025 edition on Friday night.
Parrish was selected with the 20th pick of the round – No. 84 overall – by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. K-State has now had five players selected in the top three rounds over the last three years, its most in a three-year stretch since 2001-03.
A native of Olathe, Kansas, Parrish is the ninth Wildcat all time to be selected by Tampa Bay, including the second in the last three years. He joins fellow defensive back Josh Hayes in Tampa, who was taken by the Buccaneers in the sixth round of the 2023 draft.
Parrish was a two-time All-Big 12 performer who tallied 108 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, five interceptions and 24 total passes defended over his 38 career games, which included 24 starts. The Olathe, Kansas, native had arguably his best season as a sophomore in 2023 when he tallied four interceptions and 13 passes defended, tying for fourth and sixth in the Big 12, respectively. His four interceptions that season also tied for 19th in the nation, which included a two-interception game at Texas. He had a career-high 50 tackles last season as a junior, including a career-high eight against Arizona.
