OPENING STATEMENT: “Alright, people that didn’t practice today were (T) Josh (Simmons) and then (DB Chamarri) Conner did some work today, but he’ll be deactivated this afternoon. He’s making progress, so he’s up practicing and moving around. We look forward to the challenge of playing the Dolphins, good football team, and we’re at their house. It’s their first home game, I know the fans and the Dolphins will be juiced up and ready to go. We had a good week at practice and look forward to the challenge. With that, time’s yours.”
Q: Do you expect CB Mansoor Delane to be playing in this game?
REID: “Good chance, yeah.”
Q: Is there anything you learn about the team when you go on the road for the first time in a season?
REID: “Every week you learn something new. This is the next challenge here, playing a football team on the road at their place. Again, that’s the challenge.”
Q: Did you learn anything about T Josh Simmons this week?
REID: “Yeah, (T Josh Simmons) he’s making progress. We just got to see where it all goes here.”

WR TYQUAN THORNTON
Q: On the importance of blocking in the wide receiver room.
THORNTON: “We’re motivated to block because we’ve got some great running backs in the backfield. We’ve got (RB) Kenneth Walker, (RB) Emmett (Johnson) out there, (RB) Brashard (Smith) too, as well. You never know when you’re going to make that big block to spring those guys out there to make a big play.”
Q: What are the keys to your deep ball connection with QB Patrick Mahomes?
THORNTON: “Repetition in practice. We work at it when we're tired, when it's hot, long days, and we've been going at it for a little minute, so I feel like we're just going to continue and get better.”
Q: What’s the key to being the type of player that is counted on to stretch the field for an offense?
THORNTON: “I wouldn't exactly say that's my role. My role is to basically get open, catch the ball, and compete in the run game. Just going out there each and every day, putting my best foot forward, coming in, knowing what to do, blocking out the outside noise, and just staying focused.”
RB KENNETH WALKER
Q: Do you feel like the more reps and the more work you get, the stronger you get by game's end because you feed off of it?
WALKER: “Yeah, definitely. At this position, you get a rhythm. I feel like when you get the rhythm, you're able to play fast and be yourself. Also, the way we practice, it makes it much easier in the game.”
Q: How much pride do you take in what RB Emmett Johnson has been able to do in his limited opportunities?
WALKER: “Since (RB Emmett Johnson) he got here, he's been working in the playbook, on the field, asking questions. So, every time he gets a shot, he makes the best of it. He goes out there and shines, and I'm proud of him. And he's going to continue to do great throughout the season to help us get to where we want to go.”
Q: On the blocking of the wide receivers.
WALKER: “Yeah, how selfless they are all around. I know I say O-line, but wide receivers, tight ends also. They're doing everything in the run game to make the run game pop. That's what you need to do to be a great team, and I appreciate that, the whole running back room appreciates everybody around us. So, it's a blessing to have teammates around you like that.”
DB NOHL WILLIAMS
Q: How do you feel the first few weeks have gone for you and the defensive back room?
WILLIAMS: “I think it's going pretty well. First game started off fast. This last game we still got the win, but a lot of stuff to clean up. Still came out with the W, but there's always stuff to clean up. We're still climbing that hill to get where we want to be as a secondary and the whole defense. So, yeah, it's just about eliminating the mistakes, the repeated mistakes, and just keep building on our victories.”
Q: On preparing for Miami after two tough primetime games.
WILLIAMS: “Yeah, we know Miami's going to be hungry. It's their home opener and like you said, it's the NFL, so we're not taking anybody lightly, especially this group. They're still hungry to get their first win, so we know that and we're still preparing the same way as we prepare for any other opponent.”
Q: On the emphasis in creating turnovers on defense.
