After a scoreless first half, Lissette Garcia decided that was enough of that. Working a little go-and-go action with teammate Mariah Sigala, Garcia netted the decisive score to propel the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes to a 1-0 win over Tabor in Saturday's KCAC Quarterfinal at the Graves Family Sports Complex.

The win sends the Coyotes to their 17th consecutive appearance in the KCAC Semifinals, where KWU will face Oklahoma Wesleyan at 5 p.m. at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita on Wednesday.

The victory improves Wesleyan's record to 11-6-2, and extends KWU's unbeaten streak against Tabor to 22 matches, dating back to 2005.

Garcia had possession deep in the offensive half near the edge of the box, and passed it over the middle to Sigala, who battled a defender, then passed it back to Garcia who shot from 15 yards out inside the near post for the score.

Wesleyan continued to press against the Tabor defense, but could not break through a second time, despite numerous chances.

The Coyotes had good looks in the first half, but could not convert.

KWU outshot Tabor 22-4 in the match, led by six from Garcia. Kayla Deaver and Leoni Enzlmuller had four. Daisy Bingham and Allison Blumenthal split the clean sheet in goal.
