Salina Public Schools serves over 6,700 students, prepares for superintendent selection

Salina Public Schools (USD 305), the 16th largest school district in Kansas, continues to provide a range of educational opportunities for its 6,752 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. As the district prepares to select its next superintendent, leaders emphasize the collaborative efforts that support student success.

USD 305, which encompasses the city of Salina, offers a personalized and safe learning environment, bolstered by partnerships with local businesses, artists, and organizations. Programs such as the Salina Arts Infusion initiative bring creative professionals into the classroom, while the Salina Education Foundation supports teacher development and additional learning opportunities.

The district operates multiple educational facilities, including an early-learning center, a 6-12 virtual school, eight elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. It also serves as the sponsoring agency for several key programs:

• Central Kansas Cooperative in Education (CKCIE):A special education cooperative providing services across 12 school districts.

• Heartland Early Education/Head Start:A multi-county program offering early childhood education and family support services through various funding sources.

• Salina Adult Education Center (SAEC):A program providing GED® preparation, English language learning, diploma completion, and employment training through the Partners 4 Successinitiative.
