The Southeast of Saline Trojans make a late push but fall to the Hutch Trinity Celtics in the final second by a final score of 56-54.
With this loss the Trojans move to 4-5 and will play Kingman tomorrow at 4pm.
Hutch Trinity advances to 6-3 and will face top seeded Lyons on Thursday in the tournament semifinal.
Southeast was down by as many as 17 points in the second quarter but battled all the way back from the brink to tie the game heading into the final second of the game.
Trinity however was able to regain the upper hand, taking the lead and the win with .8 seconds left on the clock.
SES spread their scoring very evenly, with Camden Spano-Lund, Jaxson Gebhardt and Bryant Banks all in double digits, but a 28 point night from Celtics guard Lucas Hammeke proved too much to overcome.
Tomorrow's game will tip off at 4pm and can be heard on KINA (910 AM or 107.5 FM). Be sure to stay tuned to Salina Post for more coverage of both Southeast boys and girls teams throughout the Sterling Invitational.
