Q: Do you see teams adjust the way that they line up their defensive line based on the fact that you guys haven't run a quarterback sneak in a while?
REID: “Yeah, well actually, Sam (McDowell), again, that was one of our self-inflicted wounds there. So, we didn't block it right on the right side there. So, we've got to make sure we get our assignment right there, but other than that, we've been pretty successful without sneaking it over time here.”
Q: Have you seen a common denominator in the penalties committed by the team?
REID: “Yeah, so I'm a big equal opportunity guy. Whatever is happening, just make sure it's the same way for both sides, and that becomes important. So, I think the officials try to do that to the best of their ability. And then there are going to be calls you don't agree with, that's part of it but it is what it is, so you’ve got to roll with it. I don't like penalties, they upset me. You want to make sure that you're not taking things away from yourself. The games are too close and too hard, and they're no more obvious than yesterday. We literally score a touchdown, and it's a different story but you learn from this, and we're a young football team, one of the youngest in the National Football League. So, every bit of every game we have here, we're learning and you can see we learned some from the Seattle game. We played better than we did in the Seattle game. Well, we need to keep going, and it's a work in progress and I know the senior leadership on the team will help continue to guide these guys in the right direction along with the coaching staff, but there's some positive things in it. But at the same time, you asked about penalties, they're frustrating. Yes, they're frustrating, and this is a great example of how it can cost you a game.”
Q: Did it look like K Harrison Butker’s kick was going to be blocked if he kicked it straight?
REID: “Well, I was telling you that in a longer version, but yeah.”
Q: So, K Harrison Butker had to kick it to the right to avoid the kick being blocked?
REID: “Yeah, they overloaded that side with all their bigs, and they were able to collapse us a little bit there. So, he just adjusted to the right a little bit, but it tailed on there, so.”
