Handguns, ammo, power tools stolen from SUV

Handguns, ammunition, and power tools were among the items stolen from an SUV in southeast Salina last week.

Gary Sandow, 63, of Salina, reported that sometime between 9 p.m. on Aug. 10 and 8 a.m. Wednesday, someone entered his 2011 GMC Yukon that was parked in his driveway in the 2100 block of Huntington Drive, and stole the following items, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.

●A red and black tool bag

●A KelTec PMR30 .22 caliber handgun

●A Ruger-57 5.7x28mm caliber pistol

●1,500 rounds of ammuntion

●A Milwaukee M18 impact driver

●A Milwaukee hammer drill

●Several other hand tools

Total value of the items stolen was estimated at $3,800.

Sandow told police that he had left a rear window down a third of the way.

Forrester said police are attempting to secure surveillance video from the neighborhood.
