Posted Aug 17, 2021 12:08 PM

K-State Research and Extension is offering a free, educational workshop for persons new to Medicare.

Medicare Basics: New to Medicare will be offered online via Zoom at noon on Aug. 30.

Learn the basics of Medicare, including eligibility, how and when to apply, costs, what is covered by the various parts, and how to fill the gaps. Programs available to assist low-income individuals will also be discussed. Anyone interested in learning more about the Medicare maze would benefit from the program, particularly those who are nearing age 65 or who help aging parents with insurance and financial matters.

The program is presented by extension educator Deb Wood, CFP®, Central Kansas Extension District, and local SHICK counselor.

Registration is required to obtain the Zoom link to participate in the program. Register online at https://bit.ly/830MedBasics.

This same program will be offered again on Sept. 21. Flyers for all both programs and links to register can be found on the  Central Kansas District website at www.centralkansas.ksu.edu, or call 785-309-5850.
