According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, the average monthly temperature of 78.7 degrees was 2.5 degrees warmer than a typical June. The warmest temperature was 106 degrees on June 17 and 18, and the coolest was 54 degrees on June 3.
The record high temperature was 114 degrees on June 25, 1911, and the record low was 38 degrees on June 4, 1897, the weather service noted.
Monthly rainfall was only 1.01 inches, which was 2.74 inches drier than a typical June. June 2021 tied for the sixth driest June since records began in 1900, and it was the driest since 2016. The highest 24-hour rainfall was 0.86 inches on June 25.

According to the weather service, the record for June rainfall was 13.62 inches in 1905, while the record minimum was 0.18 of an inch in 1980.
Overall, June 2021 was sunny, with only five partly cloudy days and one cloudy day. Additionally, Salina had fog on five days and haze on one day, the weather service noted.
