Virginia Wallace, Minneapolis

Obituary | Virginia Wallace of Minneapolis, Kansas | Wilson Family Funeral Home
September 28, 1958 - June 16, 2021
Virginia Wallace, Minneapolis, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 16, 2021. Virginia was born September 28, 1958, in Great Bend, Kansas. She was one of three daughters born to Louis and Della June Andersen.
She was married to Craig Wallace on October 2, 1976. Most of her life was spent chasing her four active children and chauffeuring them to sporting events, where she was an avid spectator and sports competitor herself. One of her greatest joys was to watch her children and grandchildren participate in baseball, football, track, etc. It was not uncommon to hear her voice and words of encouragement projected above the crowd as we knew she would have been right alongside us if she could. She passed that enthusiasm and competitive spirit to her daughter.
She happily welcomed visits from her youngest grandchildren and would spoil them with toys and games. Virginia would play alongside them, and many times, be their personal jungle gym. Even though she was continually on the go, she found peace and pleasure caring for a myriad of roses.
Virginia has led a life of service whether it be within her own household or welcoming her children’s friends regularly and always with a smile and a meal. It was not uncommon for others to drop by the house and grab a bite to eat. Virginia always made sure there was something prepared. She earned her certification to be a dietitian, worked long, hard hours and many days a week in order to care for the residents under her care.
Although she may not have known it, Virginia was an example to many. Until the end, she fought courageously, loved endlessly, and led a life serving the Lord. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9.
Survivors are her husband Craig Wallace; children Trisha (Robert) Johnson, Deyrle (Christine) Wallace, Daylan (Kris) Wallace, and Daren (Heather) Wallace; sisters Blythe (Evan) Atwell, Jo (Ed) Stahlman; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Della June Andersen.
Her body was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, Minneapolis. Inurnment will follow at the Barnard Cemetery in Barnard, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Children’s Ministry and left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, Kansas 67467.
