NWS: Strong to severe storms possible Thursday afternoon, evening

There is a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms across central Kansas this afternoon and this evening.

The greatest threat will be for areas north of a Hutchinson to Newton line.

Impacts include: quarter to half dollar size hail, wind gusts to 65 mph. A tornado cannot be ruled out. Locally heavy rainfall may also occur.

The threat will shift east of the area late in the evening.
