The festivities will begin at the Salina Public Library, 301 W. Elm Street, where a reception is scheduled in Gallery 708 from 4-5:30 p.m. The work of Lisa Urban, mostly oil on canvas paintings, is the current ehxhibition in the gallery. Light snacks will be served.

At 5 p.m. Friday at the downtown stage located near the intersection of N. Santa Fe Avenue and W. Ash Street, dancers from Della's Dance Studio are scheduled to perform.

Then, from 6-7:30 p.m., Vegan Shark is scheduled to perform. The band is described on its Facebook page as "not really that punk."

Additionally, Frostbite Shaved Ice will be selling their shaved ice to help cool you off.

Salina Downtown, Inc., encourages people to not bring their pets to the performances because of the heat.

Down the street, Peaceful Body Wellness Retreat, 148 S. Santa Fe, has scheduled an artist reception from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Karla Stangel Prickett is scheduled to present her mixed media and collage pieces made as a part of The Brooklyn Exchange, a creative process with Art Yard Brooklyn, Brooklyn, N.Y.

NOTE: Inclement weather may cause the events at the stage to be canceled, according to information from Salina Downtown, Inc.
