The late Lou Tryon will be honored for her contributions to sharing wholistic health information during a celebration Saturday.
Tryon, a longtime organizer of the Community Health Seminars, died Aug. 7.
The Community Health Seminars organization is conducting a celebration of Tryon and her contributions from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Iron Skillet Restaurant, 2125 North Ninth Street. The event is open to the public.
"Come and go as you like. Arrive early and stay late, whatever works for you. We invite you to eat as a way of supporting the kind generosity of the Iron Skillet for opening its doors to our group. Some have planned to arrive early to eat in order to ease the load on the wait staff and kitchen," the organization noted in a news release.
The group also will be collecting for Ashby House new or gently used winter clothing, toys for children, and school supplies.
"In addition, we want to show appreciation to Ashby House for providing their room for our health seminars," the group noted. "Ashby House has year-round needs and must keep their free store stocked with donations including clothing, non-perishable food, and personal items. Check out their website: ashbyhouse.org/programs/free-store."
