Feel like doing a bit of sleuthing? The folks at the Flower Nook have hidden a rock in downtown Salina and they want you to find it.
This isn't just an ordinary rock. It is a rock created especially for The Flower Nook by artisan Joyce Colvin. Find it and turn it in at The Flower Nook, 208 E. Iron Avenue, and you will be the winner of a $120 goodie package.
The Flower Nook's Peggy DeBey said that she and her husband, Wayne, who have owned The Flower Nook for 39 years, decided to offer the rock finding contest as a way to create interest leading up to The Flower Nook's next First Friday event on July 2.
Peggy DeBey said they are hoping the rock will be found so that the prize package can be presented during the First Friday event, which is scheduled for 4:30-7 p.m. July 2.
The first clue, released today, is "A city founded by Spanish Colonists in 1610 is now considered the oldest State Capitol in America."
More clues will be given at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Friday, and June 28 and 30 on The Flower Nook Facebook page or in the store. The clues were created by Fran Cassidy, who works at The Flower Nook, Peggy DeBey said.
