Construction pickup burgled; more than $2,500 worth of items taken

More than $2,500 worth of equipment and tools were stolen early Thursday morning from a construction company pickup north of Salina.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning that video from a neighboring business showed a vehicle drive up to a 2014 GMC pickup owned by T&R Construction, 1334A N. Ohio Street, at approximately 3 a.m. Thursday. He said a couple of people got out and broke into a work toolbox on the pickup.

Items stolen include the following.

●A 450 piece Craftsman tool set

●A Rhino gas-powered post driver

●A Milwaukee rechargable drill

●Assorted wrenches and sockets

The total amount of the theft was $2,570, Soldan said. Additionally, $100 worth of damage was done to the toolbox.
