Julia Mae "Julie" England, 87, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021.
Julia Mae was born Oct. 11, 1933 in Dorrance, KS, the daughter of Reinhart and Julia (Meier) Herbel.
After graduating from Dorrance High School and Brown Mackie Business College, she devoted her life to being a homemaker, mother and grandmother. Julie has made Salina her home since 1977 where she was a member of The First Christian Church. Julie loved to cook for her family and was an avid KU Jayhawk fan.
She was married to Junior Zahradnik from 1951 until 1977. To this union were born two children, Jay Dee Zahradnik and Jenise Dawn (Zahradnik) Mick. Julie was married to Roy E. England from 1987 until his death in 2011.
Besides her husband, Julie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Everett Herbel.
Left to mourn her passing are her son Jay Dee (Carol) Zahradnik, Murfreesboro, TN and their children and grandchildren: JC (Beth) Zahradnik; Clarksly, Carter, Monroe and Deacon, Anthony, KS; JT (Becca) Zahradnik; Genevieve, Isaiah and Juliet, Muscatine, IA; Brandon (Laura) Elliott; Addison & Ainsley, Smyrna, TN; Brett (Amanda) Elliott, Hermitage, TN; and Lakin Elliott, Littleton, CO; her brother Eugene Herbel, Woodward, OK; her sister-in-law Vivian Herbel, Dorrance, KS, and her estranged daughter Jenise Mick and her two sons.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Ryan Mortuary where the family will receive friends prior to the service. Private burial will be held at a later time in the Dorrance Cemetery, Dorrance, KS.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of Ryan Mortuary.
