WICHITA, Kan. - Chihiro Iwata of Kansas Wesleyan University has earned the KCAC Flag Football Offensive Player of the Week honor, the conference office announced Monday. Student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 3-9 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.
Iwata was exceptional in a three game week for the Coyotes, who went 3-0, outscoring opponents 137-18. Iwata completed 75 percent of passes, throwing for 777 yards and 14 touchdowns on the week. She also ran for 59 yards on six carries and scored twice. She threw for 299 yards and five touchdowns against Southwestern, 302 yards and five touchdowns against Pratt, and 176 yards and four touchdowns against Cottey College.
She was able to accomplish all these offensive superlatives without playing a full game in any of the three contests.
