The Sacred Heart Knights may very well have reached a turning point in their 2025 season.
After starting 0-2, the Knights took down Pleasanton in predictable fashion, but stunned the state in week four, defeating the defending district champs in Valley Heights 26-16 to even their ledger.

Now, Sacred Heart finds itself in a unique situation, with four very winnable games ahead, and the possibility of a district title and home-field advantage for the opening round of the playoffs.
That long journey to 6-2 begins tonight in Salina, as the Knights welcome in a struggling perennial power in 1-3 Sedgwick.
The slow start for the Cardinals has many around the state scratching their heads, for as long as most can remember, Sedgwick has been a powerhouse in Class 1A, with their last losing season coming all the way back in 2006.
That success includes an 8-2 campaign in 2024 that saw Sedgwick win this matchup in a 39-7 beatdown en route to a second-round playoff exit at the hands of the Plainville Cardinals.
Sacred Heart will also be in search of its first win over Sedgwick since 2013, with the Cardinals leading the all-time series 4-2.
The success of the past, however, does not win games in the present, a lesson Sacred Heart was quick to teach Valley Heights last week, and a lecture it hopes to give again in week five.
Kickoff for this game is scheduled for 7:00 at JRI Stadium in Salina, and will be broadcast on the Salina Post Sports Network for free.
