Police are investigating two burglaries at a west Salina motel Thursday.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that Eric Lilak, 41, of Salina, reported that sometime 5-11 a.m. Thursday, someone broke into his room at Americas Best Value Inn, 636 Westport Boulevard, and stole numerous DeWalt power tools valued at $1,225.
Additionally, Juan Reyes-Martinez, 29, of Salina, and Alejandro Mendoza-Maldonado, 22, of Salina, reported items stolen from their room. Forrester said that a Samsung Galaxy cellphone belonging to Reyes-Martinez and a Samsung cellphone, Sony Bluetooth speaker, and green piggy bank with approximately $1,500 in it belonging to Mendoza-Maldonado were stolen.
Forrester said there were no signs of forced entry at either room. The burglaries are believed to be connected.
Police are attempting to obtain surveillance video from the area.
