SALINA - Erik Aranda-Mota, 23, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born in Salina to Juan and Maria (Torres) Mota.
Erik was a huge soccer fan and a great player, being selected for the varsity team all four years of high school. He enjoyed spoiling his wife and making her feel special. He also loved video games, shoes, shopping, and spending time with Nora, Gio, family and his many friends.
Erik is survived by his wife Alycia Aranda; son Giovani Aranda; daughter Nora Aranda; parents Juan and Maria Mota; sister Yesica Swenson (Eric); nephew Emmett Swenson; nieces Vivia Swenson and Ava Swenson; grandparents Carlos and Rosa Torres, Ma Felix Armenta-Gonzalez, all of Salina.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Maria Guadalupe Mota (Lupita).
A vigil will be held at 5 p.m. and rosary service will commence at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021, all at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 8 at the Cathedral. Inurnment will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina.
