Kathryne Rondella Ansell Shaw was born on July 7, 1974, in El Paso, TX to Ronald Downing and Orpha Kriepe. Kathyrne passed away peacefully on July 24, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kathryne graduated Andress High School with the class of 1992 and attended some college afterwards.
On August 8, 2021, she married David Shaw in Navarre, KS. Kathryne worked in sales and jewelry. She was blessed with six children and four grandchildren. Kathryne loved jewelry design, music, and classic muscle cars.
But more than anything Kathryne loved her family. All her children’s friends were also treated as her own.
Kathryne is survived by her father Ronald Downing and stepmother Sylvia Downing; husband David Shaw; daughters Brittany Downing (Tony Huff) of Arizona, Neveah Shaw, and Jasmine Shaw of White City; sons Kevin Ansell (Molly Mercer) of Navarre, Andrew Ansell (Alexus Barlow-McKenna), and Joshua Lewis all of Herington; grandchildren Elara Huff, Elias Huff and Bryson Hughes; brother Larry Shay; sister Karen Wilson; stepbrother Jesus Benitez; stepsister Annette Benitez Carrillo. Kathryne is also survived by many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Orpha (Kriepe) Downing and her grandson Mikah Ansell.
Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Herington Chapel is serving the family.
The family will host guests for a Celebration of Life for Kathryne on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Herington Chapel at 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS 67449.
