CONCORDIA - Fresenius Medical Care has informed Cloud County Health Center that it will cease operations of the dialysis center on Sept. 30.
Fresenius Medical Care currently leases space at Cloud County Health Center to provide kidney dialysis services for renal failure patients within the local and surrounding communities. Fresenius had stated last year that its dialysis center is not financially sustainable and therefore would not be relocating to the new hospital location. This coupled with the fact of being unable to maintain necessary staffing to operate the Concordia clinic has forced them to close the clinic a year ahead of their original intent.
Fresenius Medical Care Concordia informed their staff and CCHC providers of their decision on Monday. They also met with each patient, providing them with options of care and encouraging them to work with their nephrologist to ensure seamless continuation of treatment with another Fresenius Medical Care clinic, another dialysis center in the area, or the option to dialyze at home.
Persons who have questions regarding personal or family member’s ongoing treatment options are encouraged to contact their nephrologist or Fresenius Medical Care directly.
