In the end, the amount of damage was greater than the cost of what was stolen from a local trucking company.
Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning that sometime between noon on Saturday and 6:24 a.m. Monday, someone forced his/her way through a walk-in door at Gary Johnson Trucking, 1265 W. Diamond Drive.
Inside, two large Snap-On tool boxes were broken into and another was cut into with a cutting torch, Soldan said. One of the Snap-On tool boxes was a 25-drawer professional tool box valued at $20,000. The other Snap-On tool box was valued at $6,000. The third tool box was valued at $5,000.
The only item that was determined to be missing was a gray bushing seal driver set valued at $250, Soldan said.
