Martha Lynne Peterson (Walker) born to James C. Walker, DVM, (deceased) and Carolyn Cassidy (Rundell) on August 21, 1968 in Concordia, Kansas. She is proceeded in death by her sister Melanie and grandparents.
Martha worked many years in hotel restaurant management and as a front office manager for CarStar.
She put her faith in God at an early age and sought to live out her love for Jesus by opening her life and home to serve others.
Martha was known to many for her sweet spirit and kind heart. She was an active member of Celebrate Recovery, first in Schererville, Indiana and in various communities in Colorado. After she moved to Colorado Springs, she became a member of a Cancer Support Group, AAHS Football booster club and regularly attended Woodman Valley Chapel. She enjoyed crafting, planning the annual RGD, travel to her sons, nieces and nephews various sports events and staying involved in her boys and grandson’s lives.
Martha professed her faith in Jesus throughout her struggle with cancer and was often heard saying, “I win when I get to heaven.” She lost her six-and-a-half-year battle with colon cancer on December 8, 2021.
Martha is survived by her husband Scott Peterson, sons Michael (Eunice) Walker and Malachi Ray, grandson Brock Walker, stepchildren Scotty, John and Rachel, stepgrandchildren Aoife and Joshua, sisters Jamie (John) Harrison and Nicole (Steve) Powell, stepmother Pat Walker, nieces and nephews Jonathan (Chystin), Jeremy (Halie), Jacob (Kristen), Jaclynne, Jordan, Ethan, Dillon, Aubrie and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Woodman Valley Chapel Rockrimmon campus, 280 E. Woodmen Rd., Colorado Springs, Colorado in the Stone Chapel on January 13, 2022 at 4:00 p.m., with a small reception to follow.
In addition, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, 325 W. 6th St. Concordia, Kansas on January 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a burial at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Wayne Kansas, with Pastor Earl Hale officiating.
