Due to unforeseen circumstances, the A-10s, F-16s and B-1 Bombers will not be able to participate in this year’s open house. Currently scheduled demonstrations include UH-60s, B-2s, a TACP Helicopter Insertion, and C-130s. The schedule is subject to change. The Smoky Hill Weapons Range is once again opening its gates to the public for an open house and aerial gunnery demonstration this Saturday.According to the Kansas Air National Guard, citizens will get an up close look at aircraft performing drills. You will also hear the incredible sounds of the largest bomb range in the Air National Guard.
The Air National Guard is planning a day full of aerial gunnery demonstrations which will include both fighter and bomber aircraft.
The day will include
● Free admission.
● Food & refreshments
● Memorabilia will be available for purchase.
The event is planned for Saturday, August 5. Gates open at 8:00 a.m. and demonstrations are scheduled from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The Smoky Hill Weapons Range is located at 8429 W. Farrelly Road. This event is free and open to the public.
Bring your lawn chair. Ear protection will be provided.
