October 10, 1922 ~ March 2, 2021 (age 98)

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Belleville Cemetery.    Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 6 PM Sunday.

Family will greet friends on Sunday, from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the funeral home.   Please wear a mask and practice social distancing at the visitation and services.

 Frank R. Krob, the son of Frank J. Krob and Barbara (Havel) Krob, was born October 10, 1922 in Cuba, Kansas and passed away at his home in Belleville, Kansas on March 2, 2021 at the age of 98 years, 4 months, and 2 days.

Frank grew up in the Cuba area, attending the local country schools and later graduating from Cuba High School.   

On March 10, 1942, he was united in marriage to Bessie Anna Havel and to this union three children were born.     Frank served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the European Theater, receiving an honorable discharge with the Rank of First Sergeant.

Frank then worked for the Belleville Telescope for seventeen years before establishing Krob Photographic Studio with his wife Bessie, which they operated for over twenty five years. 

Frank was a member of the Post #7515 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Clyde, KS and Post # 133 American Legion, Belleville, KS.   He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS.   Frank also was a longtime cancer survivor.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brenda Kay; parents; wife, Bessie in 2014; brothers, Will, Ben, and Edward Krob; sister, Viola Hawel, and son-in-law, Wendell Swinney.

Frank is survived by one daughter, Carol Swinney of Hugoton, Kansas;  one son, Curtis (Jacalyn) Krob of Salina, Kansas;  two grandsons,  Scott A. (Anna) Swinney of Loveland, Colorado and Kelly Curt Krob of Kansas City, Missouri; 6 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, KS with Reverend Sang Hak Lee, officiating.

Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard, Ft. Riley, KS.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 6 PM Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS.   The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS or Meadowlark Hospice.
