Anne Marie (Thompson) Pfizenmaier, 87, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. She was born July 26, 1936, in Clay Center, the daughter of Marvin and Helen (Marsh) Stevenson.   

She graduated from Clay Center High School. Anne worked for the ASC office in Clay Center.  On October 28, 1956, Anne married Duaine Thompson at the Presbyterian Church in Idana. She continued to work at the ASC office until her first son was born and then stayed home to raise her family and help Duaine on the farm.  She later returned to the ASC office, where she retired as the District Manager in 2003.

Anne was a member of the Fact United Methodist Church and was a very active member of the Methodist Ladies Aid. Anne also drove the school bus for Clay Center Public Schools for a few years. After retirement, she volunteered at the Red Cross & Apollo Towers. Anne also joined a quilting group that would gather weekly. 

Anne and Duaine lived on the farm until Duaine passed away in 2003. Anne then moved to Clay Center. She married Stanley Pfizenmaier in 2011. 

She is survived by her 2nd husband, Stanley Pfizenmaier, Sr.; Son, Gary Thompson and his wife, Karen of Lindsborg; Son, Terry Thompson and wife, Laura of Talala, OK.; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. 

Anne was also preceded in death by her parents, Helen & Marvin Stevenson; brothers Daniel and Lee Stevenson, and great-granddaughter Abigail Hecker.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas. 

A Celebration of Anne’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 16, at the Clay Center United Methodist Church. 

Interment will be in the Parallel Cemetery in Washington County, Kansas.
