Phyllis Hein Landis, 79, passed away on November 30, 2021, at her home in rural Marion, Kansas after a courageous battle with cancer. Phyllis was born to William and Catherine Hein on September 23, 1942 at her grandparent’s farm east of Marion.
She married Claude Landis on August 19, 1979.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her father Bill in 1972, and her mother Catherine in 2019; as well as brothers Vernon Hein in 2017, and Charles Hein in 2003.
She is survived by her husband: Claude Landis of Marion KS; twin brother: Richard (Phyllis) Hein of Marion KS, and brother: Walter (Judy) Hein, of Marion KS; sisters: Laura Wayman of Hutchinson KS, Catherine (Bernard Toso) Camien of Emporia KS, and Linda (Darryl) Brewer of Marion KS; sons: David (Karen) Baliel of Marion KS, and Mark Baliel of Newton KS; five grandchildren: Corrine Haukap, Casey, Anne, Colton and Liam Baliel; and five great-grandchildren: Layne, Remi and Hank Haukap; and Charlotte and Cora Baliel; along with countless more relatives and friends.
Rosary and Mass will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Holy Family Parish at St Mark Catholic Church in Marion KS, followed by a graveside service at Marion Cemetery. Friends and family will gather at the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
