Police are looking for the man who was caught on surveillance video trying to break into a Salina construction company early Saturday morning.
On Monday, the owner of Ponton Construction arrived at work and saw that a limestone rock near the entrance had been moved, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning. He also noticed limestone marks on the window near the front door and a dent in the front door.
When the owner checked surveillance video, he saw a White male throw the rock against the window twice at approximately 6:15 a.m. The male was described as being six-foot tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and an Army style jacket.
When the window did not break, he was seen on video attempting to force the door open with his body, which caused the dent. When that didn't work, he left the area, Forrester noted.
Damage was estimated at $600.
