Ronald J. "Ron" Lange

On Monday January 25, 2021, Ronald J. "Ron" Lange, loving husband of 61 years and father of three children, peacefully passed away at the age of 81.

Ron was born on September 8, 1939 in Palmer, KS to William and Ann Lange. He was the sixth child of seven with three brothers and three sisters. He graduated Linn High School 1957. In 1959 he married Mary Lou Hornbostel. They raised one daughter, Kim, and two sons, Craig, and Tod. Ron spent his entire life residing in Kansas with his final home in Salina, KS.

Ron was known for having many hobbies and a keen mechanical mind. He spent his work life in the Natural gas industry and his personal life was filled with his family, gardening, bird watching, woodworking, and church. If you knew Ron you knew he loved a “big” garden, travel, and his friends. His family will remember him in his youth as a pitcher for the local fast-pitch softball teams. His grandchildren will remember his Road Atlas, never far from his side, and his many woodworking projects.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, mother, and five siblings. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; his three children, Kim, Craig, and Tod; brother Roger Lange; brother in-law Bob Noyes; sister in-law Janet Wiese; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Due to current Covid pandemic restrictions a Private Memorial will be held at the First Covenant Church, Salina, KS at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021. The church will host a Livestream of the service found at fccsalina.com. Ronald’s remains will be interred at a columbarium niche located in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, KS.
