MANHATTAN - Kansas State University's McCain Performance Series presents award-winning musicians "Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives" at 7:30 pm Thursday, September 18.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Mississippi, Stuart got his start in bluegrass legend Lester Flatt's band at age 13. By 21, he was recording and touring with Johnny Cash.

During his more than 40-year solo career, Stuart has released more than 20 major label albums, earning platinum sales, hit singles and numerous honors, including five Grammy Awards and an induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.Known for their honky-tonk and rockabilly edge, Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives — guitarist Kenny Vaughan, drummer Harry Stinson and bassist Chris Scruggs — are all Musicians Hall of Fame inductees.

Tickets are available online at mccain.k-state.edu or at the ticket office in the McCain lobby from noon to 4:00 pm Wednesday through Friday.

Tickets are also available by phone at (785) 532-6428 during the same hours. Discounts are available for bundling seven or more events as a package or purchasing as a group of 10 or more.

Additional discounts are available for youth, military, seniors and Kansas State University faculty and staff. Call the ticket office for more information regarding available discounts.
