Quintin Hue 'Q' Silsby

Posted Dec 05, 2022 1:16 PM

Quintin Hue “Q” Silsby, of Plainville, KS, passed away on November 30, 2022, at his home in Plainville, at the age 26. He was born on February 21, 1996, to Robert “Bob” and Lisa (Nobert) Silsby in Beloit, KS. He was married to Samantha “Sam” VonHeeder on March 20, 2021, in Ainsworth, NE.

Quintin grew up in Cawker City, KS and graduated from St. John High School in 2014. He then went on to Fort Hays State University where he was President of the Sigma Chi House. He obtained a Criminal Justice Degree with a Minor in Business in 2016. He then came to Rooks County to work for the Sheriff’s Department and was currently a Patrol Sergeant.

Quintin was very patient and could fix anything, especially Sam’s mishaps - and he would often give his mom and Miranda advice on fixing anything techy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, being at home watching movies and shows with Sam, taking a drive in the country drinking a beer, playing cards at Chad and Aimee’s and listening to the Patio Play List. He couldn’t swim, but that didn’t keep him from enjoying the lake and float trips with Sam! But mostly, he loved his wife, family, friends, and dogs dearly. He was such a good husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, and dog-dad. His sincere love and gentle spirit will impact our lives forever.

Although our hearts are weighing heavy during this difficult time, we can find comfort in knowing that Quintin is at peace in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. We all have so many memories, stories, and wonderful times with him. Those are the things that we will cherish forever.

Left to mourn Quintin’s untimely passing are his parents, Bob and Lisa Silsby of Cawker City, KS; wife, Samantha Silsby of the home in Plainville; sisters, Miranda (Alan) Housh of Glen Elder, KS and Leandra Silsby of Junction City, KS; nieces and nephews, Leah, Eli, and Gemma Housh; and fur-babies, Buddy, Dax and Zeke.

Quintin is preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew, Paul Housh.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 10:30 AM at the First Christian Church in Plainville. Visitation will be held on Sunday, 2PM until 8PM with the family receiving friends 5PM to 6:30PM at the funeral home in Plainville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Quintin Silsby Memorial Fund and may be sent to Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. 1st, Stockton, KS 67669.
