Police investigating Sunday morning robbery, car theft

Salina Police are investigating an early Sunday morning robbery and car theft that took place in central Salina. 

Salina Police Lieutenant James Feldman said that at approximately 2:00 a.m. Sunday a 28-year-old man from Salina was approached by two unknown individuals and two known individuals while he was walking near Franklin and Sheridan Street. 

"Those subjects confronted him and began striking him," Feldman said. "They ended up stealing a backpack valued at $15, the victim's iPhone valued at $1,000, and a key to his vehicle valued at $50. They then left the area."

Feldman said on Monday at approximately 4 a.m., the victim noticed his 2007 silver Audi Q7, valued at $4,000 was missing.

The victim reported the incident to police at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Feldman said none of the items stolen have been returned.

"We are currently looking for the subjects he identified and are still investigating the male suspects that he knew," Feldman said. 

The total loss of property was valued at $5,065.
