Saline County Vax Facts: Additional doses for K-12 and childcare staff

Posted Feb 25, 2021 10:50 PM

Following is the Saline County COVID-19 Vax Facts for Thursday.

If you believe you are an eligible member of a Phase 2 population and have not yet registered please do so immediately.

If you have already registered, please do not register again.

In our ongoing efforts to improve efficiency in scheduling for the COVID-19 vaccine, those who provided an email address at the time of registration will receive an email notice when it is time for them to schedule their appointment.

Not providing an email address does not affect your placement on the list or the timeframe in which you will receive a call to schedule your appointment.

When an appointment is available for you, you will receive an email from Salina Family Healthcare Center with a unique link to schedule your appointment. Please add [email protected] to your safe list to prevent the email from going to your SPAM or Junk folder.

Scheduling via this link will only be available for a limited time. To avoid missing this opportunity, please do not delay in scheduling this appointment. Sharing your link will hinder your ability to schedule an appointment.

We are pleased to announce that KDHE has provided us with 400 additional doses of vaccine earmarked for K-12 staff and childcare providers. We expect to have the majority of K-12 staff and childcare providers fully vaccinated by the beginning of April.

Insurance is not required and there is no cost to receive a vaccine. If you have insurance, you will be asked to provide that information at the time you are vaccinated.

More than 7,000 people who live and work in Saline County have received either their first or both doses of the COVID-19 vaccination.

You will schedule your second vaccination appointment at the time you receive your first dose.

Senior citizens remain the priority Phase 2 population.

Other Phase 2 populations currently being scheduled for their vaccinations include:

•K12 teachers and staff

•Childcare workers

•First responders and law enforcement

•City and county critical infrastructure workers

Vaccine supply remains the primary barrier to vaccinating our community.

Unfortunately due to the state allocation process local staff members are unable to tell you when you can expect a vaccine at the time of your registration. Please be patient and someone will call you as soon as we have vaccine available for you.

You can track KDHE's weekly vaccination allocation to each county on the KansasVaccine.gov data page.

Those without access to the internet can register via phone or by visiting the Salina Senior Services Center.

Please remember to be cordial with the medical personnel who are working tirelessly to serve the Saline County Community.
