Raymond James Blevins Jr.

Raymond was born on January 3, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas. He is the son of Raymond Blevins Sr. and Dorothy Clinton Patry. Raymond joined the United States Navy, where he was able to serve his Country and further his education. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy, he went on to serve as supervisor for MPBXL, Dole and Hormel. When Raymond was not hard at work he loved to golf and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed horses. A large interest of Raymond’s was learning about the Cherokee Indian Heritage and their language.
Raymond, at the age of 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his home in Benton, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Dorothy, stepmother: Margaret; grandmother: Clara Hanson; and sister: Esther Johnson. Raymond is survived by his wife: Beverly; daughters: Janie (Ron) McAllister, Judie (Larry) Whiteside, Merle (David) Cazier, grandchildren: Breanna (Tony) Chavez, Cameron (Tess) McAllister, Tyler (Dani) Whiteside, Chad Wolley, Jennifer (John) Barnaby, Carly (Brett Rohloff) Cazier; 18 great grandkids; sisters: Jacque (Darrell) Staab, Raylette Stuckey, and Charlotte Conner and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life for Raymond will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the American Legion in Whitewater. In lieu of Flowers, memorial donations in honor of Raymond may be directed to the VA. Lamb Funeral Home of Whitewater is serving the family.
