A Salina man was sent to a Wichita hospital after being beaten and found in the street in south Salina.
Salina Police officers were sent to the area of Quincy Street and Quincy Court at about 9 p.m. Friday for the report of a person in the roadway who had possibly been hit by a vehicle. Officers and EMS arrived on the scene and locate Juarron Young, 43, of Salina, being tended to by a subject that had stopped after seeing Young in the roadway, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning.
Young had head injuries and was bleeding. He was transported to Salina Regional Health Center, where it was determined that his injuries were not the result of being hit by a vehicle, but rather from being battered with multiple strikes to the head, Forrester explained. Young did not remember what had happened to him.
Young was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment of a cranial fracture, Forrester noted.
The investigation is ongoing.
