The Southeast of Saline basketball teams battled, but both fell short in a doubleheader at Beloit on Friday night.

Girls: Beloit 47, SE of Saline 40
This game stayed close throughout with multiple lead changes and swings in momentum.
Southeast held a two-point lead at the end of the first, and a six-point lead at half, following a second quarter that saw each side manage just two field goal makes from the floor.
In the third quarter, Reagan Cheney and Landry Litton turned it on, scoring 11 of Beloit’s 13 points in the frame and pushing the Orange Trojans ahead by two.
Southeast played solid defense down the stretch but scored just six field goals in the second half, taking their first loss of the season by a final score of 47-40.
Beloit was led in scoring by Reagan Cheney (19) and Karlie Smith (10), while Kyiah Samuelson (13) and Taryn Goetz (11) led the charge for SES.
With this result, Beloit improves to 2-1 while Southeast falls to 3-1.
Boys: Beloit 66, SE of Saline 46
On the boy’s side, Southeast kept things close for a quarter, but Beloit exploded for 23 points in the second quarter, pulling away and never looking back en route to their second win of the year.
Turnovers made a difference in this game as Southeast lost possession 20 times while taking just seven from Beloit.
Ten different Trojans scored at least one bucket for Beloit, led by Truitt King (17), Kale Leners (12), and Hudson Remus (10).
Hendrix Lund (17) and Tiernan Ptacek (10) led the way for Southeast.
With this result Beloit improves to 2-1 while SES falls to 0-4.
