Salina Police Department officers are investigating the theft of a red 2005 Chevrolet Silverado from a residence on Tenlawn Street, just off Ninth and Crawford Streets, on Tuesday afternoon.
SPD Capt. Feldman told Salina Post that officers were dispatched to the location around 4:30 p.m. after the vehicle’s owner reported it missing.
According to Salina Police Captain Feldman, the truck’s owner, a 36-year-old man, gave the vehicle to a known individual under the assumption that it would be repaired.
"He [suspect] lied about where he was taking it and all that and refuses to contact the victim," Feldman said. "
The Silverado, valued at $7,500 and bearing the license plate 79BWE, has not yet been located.
SPD officers are utilizing resources, including the FLOCK camera system, to aid in the investigation. Anyone with information about the missing truck is urged to contact the Salina Police Department.
