KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Kansas City Royals today announced that infielder Vinnie Pasquantino has agreed to a two-year contract through the 2027 season, pending a physical. The deal covers 2026, plus what would have been his second year of salary arbitration. Pasquantino remains under club control through 2028.
“Vinnie is a premier run producer, a huge part of our team and someone our fans have really connected with,” said Royals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager J.J. Picollo. “We’re proud of the player he’s become, and that he’s earned this contract. We are happy as an organization and for Vinnie personally to have stability moving forward.”
After suffering injuries in 2023 and 2024, Pasquantino in 2025 set career highs in games (160), hits (164), doubles (33), home runs (32), RBI (113) and runs scored (72). He became one of only eight players in Royals history to record at least 30 home runs and 30 doubles in a single season, and he was just the third left-handed hitter to do so, following George Brett in 1985 (38 2B, 30 HR) and John Mayberry in 1975 (38 2B, 34 HR).
Pasquantino’s 32 home runs last season tied for the 10th most in the American League, and his 113 RBI ranked 3rd, behind only Seattle’s Cal Raleigh (125) and New York’s Aaron Judge (114). It marked the 9th-most RBI by a Royal in a single season.
He earned American League Player of the Week honors twice in 2025, from June 2-8 and Aug. 18-24. His three career AL weekly awards are tied with Carlos Beltrán for 6th most in Royals history.
Since making his debut on June 28, 2022, he’s hit 70 home runs with 262 RBI over 424 games, while batting .266. Of his 70 career homers, 35 have given the Royals a lead. His 58 go-ahead RBI since the start of 2024 are the 2nd most in the Majors over that stretch, behind only Judge’s 63.
