Gayle Ann Lee, 90, Tescott, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. She was born Gayle Ann Grace on February 24, 1935, to Lennie and Etta (Jones) Grace, on a small farm near Ada.
After graduation Gayle Ann worked at Handy Motors in Minneapolis, where she was fluent in shorthand. It was there she met Merlin Lee. They were married on May 12, 1955, and lived most of their lives on the farm near Tescott. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Merlin passed away in September of 2005. Gayle Ann also worked at the grocery store in Tescott, helping and visiting with customers, but more so, she loved being a farm wife. She delivered many meals to the fields. Gayle Ann loved giving and receiving birthday cards and she had a great talent for painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merlin; infant son, Michael; brother, Bob Grace; and twin grandsons, Andrew and Aaron Lee.
Gayle Ann is survived by her children, Leah Beth Drouhard and husband, Mike of Wellington, Bob Lee and wife, Tammy of Culver, and Darryl “DD” Lee and wife Liz of Tescott; grandchildren, Ryan Lee, Ashlie Krone, Colter Lewis, Jordan Lee, and Tyler Benson; and great-grandchildren, Ashdan, Brantlan, and Weston Lee, Jadyn, Jace, Austyn, and Cohen Krone, and Morgan and Leah Lewis.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 15 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467. Private graveside services will be Franklin Cemetery, Tescott. Memorials may be made to the Tescott United Methodist Church or the Tescott Lions Club and may be left in care of the funeral home.
