Mary Eleanor Hanson Larson, the daughter of Everett John Hanson and Eleanor Francis (Long) Hanson, was born September 2, 1936 in Beaver City, Nebraska and passed away on August 19, 2020 at her home in rural Scandia, Kansas at the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 17 days

Mary attended school at # 99, Kackley and graduated from Courtland High School.  After graduation she attended Cosmetology School in Beatrice, Nebraska. 

On March 31, 1957, she was united in marriage for 61 years to Richard A. Larson and to this union was born:  Kevin, Diane, Michael, and Brent.     The couple made their home in rural Scandia on the family farm.    Mary was a devoted Mother and farm wife.   She also was a beautician and Activity Director.

Mary was an active member of the Amana Lutheran Church and the LCW. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Eleanor Hanson, her Husband, Richard in 2018; brother, John Hanson; Daughter-in-law, Katherine P. Larson; and Niece, Patricia Norton.

Mary is survived by three sons,  Kevin (Michelle) Larson of Scandia, KS, Michael Larson (friend-Tracy) of Scandia, KS, and Brent (Melissa) Larson of Manhattan, KS; one daughter, Diane Larson-Floersch (Rob) of Clay Center, KS; 6 grandchildren: Dana (Kayla) Larson of Scandia, KS, Shanna (Nathan) Lindberg of Formoso, KS, Corbin Larson of Scandia, KS, Nathan (fiance’-Brooke) Larson of Memphis, TN, Kaylee Larson of Courtland, KS, and Richard Floersch of Lawrence, KS; 4 great grandchildren: Hudson & Harlow Lindberg, Brylee & Kinsley Larson;  three sisters, Beverly Hosford of Irvine, California, Catherine Tebow of Courtland, KS, and Jeanette Norton of Paola, KS;  and lifelong friend, Norma Nelson of Jamestown, KS;  other relatives and friends.  

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Amana Lutheran Church, Scandia, KS with PMA’s Al Urich and Marilyn Dunstan, officiating.  

A private family inurnment service will be held prior to the memorial services at the Riverview Cemetery.   No visitation is planned at the funeral home.

Friends may sign the register book prior to the services at the Church and the family will greet friends following the services.

Memorials are suggested to the Amana Lutheran Church or the Scandia Museum.
