Kansas Wesleyan swept the KCAC Flag Football weekly honors as Brianna Hernandez-Silva (JR/Las Vegas, Nev.) and Angel Roman (FR/Jacksonville, Fla.) were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for their efforts for the Coyotes last week.
Hernandez-Silva led the KWU offense to a 34-12 win over Saint Mary. She accounted for 385 yards of total offense and had a hand in all five of KWU's touchdowns in the game, as KWU rallied from a 12-7 deficit with 27 unanswered points to win 34-12. This is the second time this season Hernandez-Silva has been named the KCAC Women's Flag Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Roman had two interceptions for the Coyotes in the 34-12 win over Saint Mary. One interception was in the end zone to stop a potential Saint Mary scoring drive. She also had an interception on a PAT attempt by Saint Mary. She added two flag pulls and three other pass break-ups.
KWU is 3-4 on the season and hosts a triangular with Midland and Ottawa on Saturday at Graves Family Sports Complex. KWU plays Midland at 2 p.m., at Ottawa at 7 p.m.
