JEWELL COUNTY - A small earthquake shook part of southwestern Jewell County late Monday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck at 5:17 p.m. Monday. It was centered southwest of the 40 Road/F Road intersection.
