Obituary | Dick Todd of Minneapolis, Kansas | Wilson Family Funeral Home

August 1, 1935 - March 2, 2022

Richard E. “Dick” Todd. 86, Minneapolis, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at his home. Dick was born August 1, 1935, in Minneapolis to Wendell O. and Marjorie L. (Kay) Todd.

After graduating from Minneapolis High School, Dick attended the University of Kansas where he played football before enlisting in the United States Army. After serving two years, Dick returned to KU where he finished his education.

Dick and Jean Hahn were united in marriage on June 15, 1958, in Minneapolis.

For 40 years, he was the owner and operator of The Todd Agency in downtown Minneapolis.

Dick was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis where he served as an elder and trustee.  Dick belonged to the Masons and the Lions Club and was a former school board and housing authority board member. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Robert.

Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Jean; daughters Kathy Wooton and her husband Mike, Sue Jaax and her husband Bryan, and Carol Alexander and her husband Rick; stepsister Judy Jones; grandchildren Todd Wooton and his wife Maggie, Andy Wooton and his wife Caitlin, Jeff Wooton, Eathan Jaax and his wife Sondra, Liz Rutledge and her husband Devon, Molly Jaax, and Caitlin, Grace, and Austin Alexander; and great-grandchildren, Lexie and Kelsie Wooton.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m.. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Private services for the family will be Monday at the First Presbyterian Church with burial in Highland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Minneapolis Public Library and may be mailed to Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
