Jeffrey Wayne Wallace was born on February 14, 1973 in Salina, Kansas, the son of Kenneth and Lois Wallace. He died on Monday, February 15, 2021 at his home in Barnard, Kansas at the age of 48.
Jeff grew up on a farm near Barnard, and later graduated from Minneapolis High School in the Class of 1991. Following graduation, he attended Hutchinson Community College, where he studied criminal justice. He then pursued a career in nursing, and worked at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit as a nurse’s aide, and also at Via Christi Hospital in Wichita as a nurse tech.
He was a member of the Kansas Gay Rodeo Association (KGRA), and was Mr. KGRA for two years. He also served as a board member for the Pine Valley Christian Church and Heart of America Men’s Chorus.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Linda Wallace; brother, Patrick; grandparents, Pansy and Cassie Ullom and Wayne and Jean Wallace; step-grandmother, Lee Wallace; and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his husband Travis Zirkle of the home; brother, Nick of Barnard; step-sister, Jenifer Paxson; step-brother, Michael Cousins; nephews, Keegan and Wyatt; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, February 20 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home followed by cremation. Visitation will be from 2-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Masks will be required at the funeral & visitation. Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
