
In loving memory of Jodi Ellen "Broussard" Cross, who passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at the age of 71 in Salina Kansas. Born on June 23, 1954, in New Iberia, Louisiana. Jodi was a radiant spirit whose warmth and laughter touched the lives of everyone around her.
Jodi was the daughter of Jack and Anita Broussard, who preceded her in death. Her upbringing in Louisiana instilled in her a deep appreciation for her roots, flavors, and traditions, all of which she carried with pride throughout her life. Her family fondly recalls her stories of growing up in the vibrant culture of New Iberia, where her intelligence and unique sense of style shone brightly from a young age.
Jodi's education journey began at New Iberia Senior High School, after which she attended Nichols College in Thibodaux, Louisiana. With a strong work ethic inherited from her parents, she dedicated her professional life to the hospitality industry. Jodi began her career in the family business before enjoying many memorable years at The Royal Hotel in New Orleans. She later retired from The Ambassador Motel, formerly known as The Holiday Inn, in Salina Ks, where she becomes known for her ability to handle all aspects of the motel industry with grace and competence.
On October 20, 2003, Jodi married Robert "Bobby" Lee Cross Jr in Las Vegas, Nevada. From the minute they met, Bobby knew she was his "Cajun Queen." Together they shared 22 years filled with love, laughter, and countless memories to cherish forever.
Jodi's legacy lives on through her 3 Bonus sons: Christopher (Amy) Cross, Matthew (Theresa) Cross, and Brandon (Trishka) Cross. Jodi enjoyed her 7 grandchildren: Lilian, Isabella, Braxton. Gracelyn, Jacinda, Emily, and Breeanna, and great grandson Stetson. She is also survived by her sister, Debra (Wayne) Spell of New Iberia, Louisiana, and her brother Dwyer (Sandy) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and many special nieces and nephews.
Jodi had a passion for cooking that brought joy to everyone around her. Cajun cuisine was her specialty, and her delicious creations and sweets were often shared with family and friends. She also enjoyed her scratch tickets, possessing a winning method that will forever remain a mystery to her loved ones. Jodi cherished time with "Gatty" creating beautiful memories filled with lots of laughter.
Those who knew Jodi will forever remember her infectious smile and that contagious laugh that would light up a room. Her intelligence, style, and love for her family made her a truly remarkable person. Her spirit will continue to
inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In this time of sorrow, let us celebrate the joy she brought to our lives and remember the beautiful moments we shared with her. Rest in peace dear Jodi. You will be missed more than words can express.
