Duane M. Grittman, Minneapolis

Obituary | Duane M. Grittman of Minneapolis, Kansas | Wilson Family Funeral Home
March 12, 1956 - December 6, 2021
Duane Martin Grittman, 65, Minneapolis, went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on Monday, December 6, 2021. He was born March 12, 1956, in New York to Raymond and Marjorie (Henderson) Grittman while Raymond was serving in the military.
They returned to their hometown of Beloit where he was raised and attended school. After high school, Duane worked several jobs before attending vo-tech school.
In 1985, he married Alice Kattenberg, the love of his life. They enjoyed many years camping, traveling, and being together. Duane and Alice spent many evenings with friends playing cards, laughing, and praying for needs. This was a special time of fellowship and encouragement. After his accident, he spent time fishing, carving, and doing many woodworking projects for family and friends.
One of the important parts of his life was his ministry for the Lord. Duane never hesitated to share his faith with anyone he met. He was always willing to be used by the Lord – ministering in the local jail, hospital, church, and later ministering to the nurses and hospital staff while he was a patient. Duane would always say when entering the hospital, he was on a mission trip – praying for many in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Wanda Grittman.
Survivors are his wife Alice; daughter Rachel; brother Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 10 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467 where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00.
